Tres Leches Cake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and ready a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing and flouring it.

Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together and set aside.

Beat egg yolks with 3/4 cup sugar until light and fluffy, then mix in milk and vanilla.

Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients, ensuring a smooth batter.

In another bowl, whip egg whites to soft peaks, then add the remaining sugar and beat to stiff peaks.

Fold the egg whites into the batter gently, preserving the airiness.

Bake the cake for 25-30 minutes, until it passes the toothpick test.

Mix the tres leches ingredients together and soak the warm cake thoroughly.

Chill the cake for at least 4 hours, allowing it to fully absorb the flavors.
