But have you noticed that the Coca-Cola at McDonald’s not only tastes different but actually tastes better than Coca-Cola from elsewhere? It turns out you are not alone.
Some people claim it’s because there’s more syrup in the Coca-Cola at McDonald’s. Others say it’s the contrast between the saltiness of McDonalds’ fast food with the sweetness of Coca-Cola, making you crave the sugary drink more. But is there more to this?
A new theory has emerged, and it’s largely due to the unique relationship between McDonald’s and Coca-Cola. After all, McDonald’s is Coca-Cola’s largest customer. Starting from the 1950s, they each helped one another grow into two of the largest companies in the world.
Their partnership was so close that Coca-Cola began customizing it’s delivery system for McDonald’s. While other restaurants received Coca-Cola in plastic bags, Coca-Cola used stainless steel tanks for McDonald’s. People now suspect it’s these stainless steel tanks that preserves the freshness of Coca-Cola as its being transported all around the world.
