My Southern friend swears by this dish and calls them “The South’s Finest”

Ingredients:

3 tbsp dark corn syrup

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

1½ cups packed light brown sugar

1 cup evaporated milk

1½ cups pecan halves

1/8 tsp salt

1½ cups sugar

2 tbsp butter

Instructions:

In a large saucepan, mix dark corn syrup, brown sugar, evaporated milk, and salt.

Stir continuously while bringing it to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once boiling, lower heat and cook until soft-ball stage (236-240°F/113-116°C).

Off heat, stir in sugar and butter until combined.

Cool for 6-9 minutes, then mix in pecans and vanilla.

Spoon out onto wax paper or a silicone mat, spacing them apart.

Let pralines cool and set for about 30 minutes.

Note:

Continuous stirring is crucial to prevent burning.

Handle the hot mixture with care.

Consider adding cinnamon or nutmeg for a unique flavor.

Enjoy crafting your very own South’s Finest Pralines and share these delightful treats with loved ones. Let each bite transport you to the vibrant culinary landscape of the South!
