Best Scalloped Potatoes

This recipe is a traditional meal that has layers of potatoes and a layer of cheese sauce that is thick and creamy layered on top. In spite of the fact that the ingredients for this sweet potato recipe are straightforward, it is an excellent choice for a side dish to serve during Easter, Christmas, or Thanksgiving.

The following ingredients are required: four cups of thinly sliced potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet; about two pounds more or less), three tablespoons of butter, three tablespoons of flour, one and a half cups of milk, one teaspoon of salt, a dash of cayenne pepper, one and a half cups of sharp cheddar cheese, divided, and red pepper.
