Best Scalloped Potatoes

Set the oven temperature to 350 degrees. Make sure to grease a baking pan with a capacity of 1.5 quarts (an 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking dish will do).
Make sure to whisk in the flour while the butter is melting in the pot.
Add the milk in a very slow and steady stream, and then season it with salt and spicy pepper.
Keep whisking the sauce with an electric whisk on occasion while it is simmering until it is completely smooth and boiling.

A cup of cheddar cheese should be stirred in while the heat is reduced.
Place half of the potatoes that have been sliced onto the baking dish. Half of the cheese sauce should be poured over the potatoes. Take the second layer of potatoes and cheese sauce and repeat the procedure with the first layer.
For the remaining half cup of cheddar cheese, sprinkle it on top. To add some color, sprinkle some paprika on top as a garnish.
Bake for about one hour at a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, or until the potatoes are cooked.
